Amplifying God's Voice

Writer's picture: Paris DunbarParis Dunbar

What's up beautiful reader, and welcome back to "Word Up Wednesday". I am filled with so much Joy and Gratitude as I write this week's blog. God is so good and He is all around us at all times. He is a never failing God, a never changing God and the Great Maker of Everything. There is nothing He can't do and nothing is impossible when you partner with Him in all that you do.

Today it is in my heart to simple spread the good news and be a friendly reminder that God is real, He is alive and He is always working in our lives.

The voice of the world is loud and it's only being amplified through the growth and expansion of technology, social media and our constant need to always be stimulated because of these things. Therefore, it's more important than ever to learn God's voice and His character so that you're not guided in the wrong direction.

But how do I learn God's voice?

In order to learn and distinguish God's voice over all the radio frequencies you must study His word. I know it seems basic but look at it this way; when you want to learn how to speak a new language you study that language through repetition, lessons, speaking it, writing it and if possible immersing yourself in the applicable culture.

Well, learning God's voice is a similar process. Obviously hearing Him can come in more creative ways according to your relationship but studying His word is how you open your ear gates, eye gates, your life speaking abilities, igniting His vision over your life and so much more.

Ok, You are saying alot. Example please?

Of course! For example Let's say there is someone in your life that is less than pleasant and if they do "X, Y or Z" one more time you are going to go in on them in the worst way. Now, during that experience, more than likely there will be two voices in your head. One of them is saying "Go in!!!" and the other is saying "Leave it alone, just walk away. It ain't worth it".

In a moment like this because you have taken the time to study God's word you are able ask within "What would Jesus do?" and because the Holy Spirit only speaks God's word you will be reminded of something you've read or heard (because you've been studying) such as "Bless those who persecute you; bless and not curse" - Romans 12:14. This is hearing God's voice because God's word plants itself in your heart posture. All you have to do is seek Him or in other words study, desire, listen and fill your life with His teachings.

In doing so, you will never be led astray, your foot will not stumble and your sleep will be sweet. His words will become your words, His thoughts will transform you and everything in between will be adjusted because learning His language is life changing.

Here's proof: "By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let them not depart from your eyes -- Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet." - Proverbs 3:20 - 24

When you understand His voice and His ways your desires, choices, friends and pursuits are naturally adjusted. This is how we grow, move forward and are transformed into who we are called to be. May God's voice be amplified in your life!

Because you deserve to live a Great Life. - Paris

Till next time.
